Sophia’s Place

Our Calming Rooms are appropriately named after the beautiful young lady that is the inspiration for Voices 4 Autism. Sophia brings joy and love to everyone who meets her.

Funds raised are used to create our custom designed Sensory/ Calming Rooms for those on the autism spectrum. Our rooms help users feel calm after becoming overly stimulated and overwhelmed from loud noises, music, bright lights, and crowds, for examples. Rooms include items that create a feeling of safety and a sense of security like muted colors, soft lighting, calming music, and sensory items to look at and touch.

Voices 4 Autism is the first in the world to have the ability to make our rooms highly interactive with the use of a design partner who is the global leader in the field of Printed Electronics, specifically the integration of printed conductive ink touch-sensors and electronics. The guests of our rooms can touch interactive wall panels that have been programmed with specially chosen sounds and overlaid with graphic designs and artwork.
